Prom styles fit for a Hollywood starlet

In film, the actress Gene Tierney carried a certain tough, elegant grace. Whether she portrayed the femme fatale in the classic film noir tale, ‘Laura’ or the doomed wife in ‘Leave Her to Heaven,’ Tierney fit firmly in the world of Hollywood glamour.

Tierney also had ties to Connecticut, having attended Miss Porter’s School in Farmington and St. Margaret’s School in Waterbury.

When it comes to prom fashions, you can never go wrong with the kind of old Hollywood glamour of Tierney.

For this prom fashion shoot, Tierney– and that red carpet look– served as inspiration for the gowns, hair, and makeup.

All of the gowns were provided by Dazzle Boutique at 130 Scott Rd., Waterbury. Hair was styled by Bill Schrlau of Southington. Makeup was handled by Brittany Monico Martin of Bristol’s Forever Flawless Artistry. Models are Alyssa Anderson and Alyssa Taglia, both of Wolcott.

The photographs were taken on location at the American Clock and Watch Museum, 100 Maple St., Bristol (ClockandWatchMuseum.org.)
