When you see them compete for a crown, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, business attire, and swimsuits are the uniforms of necessity. But what do titleholders wear when the sash and crown are stashed away.

Meet Petite Miss Southington Leah Aparo and Petite Miss Plantsville Maddie Merrifield.

Leah Aparo

“(Going out in public) I like to wear dresses and high heels, but my mom won’t let me wear high heels. I like to wear fun leggings too.”

“(When hanging out at home) I like to wear t-shirts and shorts to be comfy.”

Leah added that she really likes to go shopping because it’s fun to get new outfits.

Maddie Merrifield

“When I go out in public, I like to dress girly. I love accessories and I love shoes and hair bows. I am always late because I could never decide what to wear!

“In the summer at home, I am always in my bathing suit because I am always in the pool. I like to wear tankinis in bright colors. In the winter at home, I am always in my pajamas because I like to be warm and I like to cuddle and drink hot chocolate. I like to wear long sleeve fuzzy pajamas!”
