Style continued its adventures at the second night of Miss America preliminary competition at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. Wednesday.

A second night of the Evening Gown and Lifestyle and Fitness (swimsuit) judging took place as the potential Miss Americas took the stage.

Whereas nudes, whites, and other subdued colors predominated on Tuesday, contestants on the second night veered more to jewel tones for the gowns. Miss America 2016 Betty Cantrell, in fact, wore a ruby red gown to close the evening.

For swimsuits, the contestants wore a variety of selections from Irene West Swimwear. Irene West is the official swimsuit for Miss America.

At the end of the night, Miss Arkansas, Savvy Shields, was named Wednesday night’s preliminary Talent winner for her jazz dance performance to the song “Just Keep Moving the Line” from the former TV show “Smash.” Savvy will receive a $2,000 scholarship. Also capturing the spotlight was Miss Maryland, Hannah Brewer, who was the preliminary Lifestyle and Fitness winner in a black Irene West swimsuit. Hannah will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The Miss America finals will be broadcast Sunday, Sept. 11 on ABC.
