Turn prom into ‘Avenue of Dreams’ for foster, adopted girls

This prom season, the Connecticut Alliance of Foster & Adoptive Families will give 150 foster and adopted girls statewide a dress of her dreams. In doing so, CAFAF is having the “Avenue of Dreams” Prom Dress, Makeup and Accessory Drive from now until Friday, Feb. 24.

In order to ensure that the event is a success, CAFAF is requesting donations for the Avenue of Dreams Prom Dress, Makeup and Accessory drive 2016-2017. Donation items include new or gently used prom or bridesmaid dresses, shoes, accessories and new makeup or body products. CAFAF is also seeking service providers from the hair and makeup industries to provide makeovers during the event. Donations can be dropped off at the CAFAF office located at 2189 Silas Deane Highway Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or by contacting the outreach coordinator and arranging for pick-up. For more information please call Catherine Rose, Outreach Coordinator at 860-258-3400 or visit the organizations’ website at www.cafafct.org.

Additionally, CAFAF is also looking for service providers in the makeup and hair industries to help style the girls, as well as the photography industry to take photographs of the girl’s final look.
