Stashing the sash fashion: Miss Bristol Gina Salvatore

When you see them compete for a crown, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, business attire, and swimsuits are the uniforms of necessity. But what do titleholders wear when the sash and crown are stashed away.

Meet Gina Salvatore, Miss Bristol of the Miss America Organization.

“My personal fashion is all over the place! Some days when I head out I’d say I have a trendy vibe and other days my style is much more relaxed and athletic. My go-to outfits are a solid colored top, leather jacket, dark skinny jeans and booties or I’ll rock sneakers, leggings and an oversized sweater! I am always on the go and usually heading to or from a fitness class so it’s important to me that my outfits are comfortable and versatile so no matter where I’m going I’m ready for whatever gets thrown at me!

“When picking out outfits from appearances I always look for classic, timeless looks and colors. I found a dress a few years back that I absolutely loved and fit perfectly- each year since they’ve come out with a new color and I now have a collection of them! When you find something that works for you, is flattering and versatile, I always say you shouldn’t be afraid to purchase it in multiple colors!

“I’m currently in graduate school so when I’m at home I’m usually working on my assignments and like to be as comfortable as possible! You’ll often find me in leggings or shorts with a t-shirt and sweatshirt. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from UConn so I have lots of UConn gear and if I’m dressed down for the day you’ll most likely see me rocking a shirt with Jonathan the Husky on it! I’m lucky to work at Lululemon so most of my athletic gear and leggings are from there and my other go-to stores are Hollister, American Eagle and Macy’s! I’m a bargain hunter and they always have stellar deals going on- you don’t have to spend tons of money to look great!”
