When you see them compete for a crown, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, business attire, and swimsuits are the uniforms of necessity. But what do titleholders wear when the sash and crown are stashed away.

Meet Erika Farrell, Miss Forestville of the Miss America Organization.

“When it comes to going out, I am all about bargain shopping! I rarely buy something full price. Going shopping is like a scavenger hunt to find the best deals. I will search through clearance racks and walk away with designer dresses for $12! It is amazing what you can find if you just put in that little extra effort to look. My fashion sense is one of two extremes. It’s either really simple with skinny jeans or black leggings and a plain cotton top, or it’ll be elaborate pieces that all match down to the shoes. But hey, if the Kardashians/Jenners can wear an extra large Champion crew neck and heels out in public, then I can rock a Vineyard Vines baseball hat with a t-shirt dress and call it a day.

“Home is where the PJs are! In high school, I would come home and stay in whatever outfit I wore that day until bedtime. College changed my outlook on being 100% relaxed when I’m lounging around. Flannel or silk pajama bottoms and a loose, comfy tee is what you’ll find me in if you ever show up unexpectedly at my door.”
