Ellana Krechmaras saw a need in the market place—and in her own wardrobe—for a bra that properly supports the full-busted woman.

And after doing some of her own research and design, the northern-Virginia based designer launched Etched in May.

She recently attended Lingerie Selection in New York City to introduce the line and attract boutiques that cater to fit.

Krechmaras, from her own experience, realized there wasn’t really a bra that would support, and support comfortably, a full busted woman.

Her solution was to design a bra with a full band in the back that sits lower on the body for a hug and a balance. She compared the construction to a bridge where the key was to find the balance point between the back of the bra and the cups in front. The bra is constructed with individually cut panes, with flexible boning. It’s “very comfortable,” said Krechmaras, and as intended provides the necessary support she was seeking.
