So you’ve earned your state’s title in the Miss America Organization. You’ve made your way to “the show”– crown and sash in hand– at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

You’ve spent a week rehearsing and preparing in New Jersey for your entry onto the stage in front of Miss America pageant fans from across the country.

And you are finally going to making that iconic first introduction, “Hi I am so-and-so, your Miss (insert state here).”

What do you wear for that first public appearance on the national competition stage?
