The Polish community of Connecticut has a new queen and the Nutmeg state has a new style as New Britain’s Nicole Janusz was crowned Miss Polonia CT 2018 at the Polish National Home in Hartford, Conn. Sept. 23.

Janusz is a student at the University of Connecticut and is slated to graduate in the spring.

In the pageant, Janusz competed in swimwear, evening gown, and on-stage questions.

Her swimsuit was a vibrant blue bikini. The cocktail dress she wore for her introduction also was a vibrant blue. Her evening gown though was a pastel powder blue.

In addition to winning the crown, Janusz received the most votes cast in an on-line survey conducted by the pageant.

As part of her prize package, Janusz will participate in a high fashion photo shoot with John Casablancas Modeling and Acting Agency.

First runner-up was Angelika Boguska from Stamford. The second runner up was Newington High School senior, Olivia Wronka, who also won the title of Most Photogenic and won the people’s choice award, “Miss Publicznosci.”

Kasia Mazur received the Miss Glamour award. Beata Palosz from Stamford was deemed best in swimwear. Marlena Zajaczkowska of New Britain received Miss Congeniality and Mrs. Polonia

Honorary title of Mister Polonia CT 2018 went to Radek Przygodzki, 18, a student at Lyndon College in Vermont.

On Oct. 7, Janusz will represent Connecticut at the national finals for Miss Polonia USA in New York City.

The evening also marked the end of the reign for Miss Polonia CT 2017 Marlena Sawicka and Miss Polonia CT Teen 2017 Natalia Matuszewska.
