Groundbreaking British milliner Stephen Jones, who has outfitted the likes of fashion-tastemaker Isabella Blow and pop star Boy George, told the Financial Times once, “Hats tend to turn up the volume on a look.”

And at the recent Fight for Fashion event in Ansonia, New Britain, Conn. milliner Kristin Davis definitely helped turn up the volume as her hats and headpieces added to the flair of sartorial creations showcased on the runway models.

Davis emerged into the world of millinery via the world of fine art and graphic design and, later, architectural design and drafting.

Although Davis– whose line is called Krissy Dihbi Designs– focuses a lot of her work on the bridal universe—she also veers into more creative endeavors. She either follows her own muse or follows the direction of clients interested in contracting her services. Whichever direction she takes, each hat or headpiece is a one of a kind creation.
