Female designers wanted to show their creations on Red Carpet for Oscar night fundraiser

Female fashion designers are needed for The Red Carpet Experience Oscar Event for AIDS CT.

This annual Hartford tradition is a fun party held on Oscar Night and is always well attended and has live media coverage. The event features a bar, food from local chefs, a silent auction, a photo shoot area, and the Oscars playing live on the big screen in the theater.

This year, they are again choosing to focus on fashion as part of the party and as part of the press for the party. During each of the commercial breaks of the Oscars, the fashion squad will do brief commentary on the fashions we see on screen at the Oscars, and celebrate one or two of the nominees we’ve chosen for Best Dressed from our own live audience as well as doing mini-runway shows to showcase CT/NYC designers.

Female designers are needed who can showcase a unique and beautiful red carpet look they have created. The organizers are especially interested in designs that incorporate typically male elements (e.g a tux) into the style or reflect the #metoo and #timesup movement without being overtly political.

What the designer needs to do:

  1. Submit a sketch or photo of your design as soon as possible
  2. Submit a designer bio and website/ordering information
  3. Let us know if you have a model or need us to help you find a model for the TV appearance/event
You will get one complimentary ticket to attend the event with your model. You and your model are not allowed to bring any extra people unless they pay for a ticket. Your model and you are responsible for hair/make up for your model.
