With spring within reach, many brides are putting together their “to-do” lists. And one item on that list surely will be how they want their makeup done and how they will wear their hair. Students at the International Institute of Cosmetology on Whiting Street in Plainville, Conn. (www.studyhair.com) recently demonstrated and spoke about what they feel are the trends in makeup and hair for brides in 2018.

“What we’re presenting here (on model Jade Soto of Hartford, Conn.) is more of a bohemian style,” said hair stylist Olivia Ambrosio at the local cosmetology school. “It’s a new 2017-18 style people are going with.”

“It’s kind of a messy look,” said Rebecca Duenas, who collaborated with Ambrosio on the hair.

“It’s for a wedding, so (the makeup’s) going be a kind of peachy warm elegant look,” said Mayra Cagganello, a makeup artist student at IIC. “I gave her a little bit of a glow because she naturally has an olive-y skin tone so that’s what what works for her.”

“That’s something you would see at a bohemian wedding as well,” said Cagganello.
