Toshaz has heaven on her mind

Heaven is a place on earth.
And heaven was clearly on Toshaz’s mind.
Toshaz, the creator of Couture France, presented a nearly-all white garment collection at Hartford Fashion Week on April 21. But rather than angelic robes and ambivalent volume, she presented slightly devilish cuts and sexy silhouettes at the Colt Armory in Hartford, Conn.
It was slightly spacy and lighter than air, like the clear plastic LED filled balloons the models carried, but it worked. It reminded me of the scene in the film “Grease,” where Didi Conn sings, “Beauty School Drop Out” or the moment in Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: Space Odyssey” where Keir Dullea confronts supercomputer Hal 9000 (“I’m afraid I can’t do that, Dave.”)
