When you see them compete for a crown, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, business attire, athleisure wear, and swimsuits are the uniforms of necessity. But what do titleholders wear when the sash and crown are stashed away.

Meet Danielle Radeke, Miss Greater Waterbury in the Miss America Organization system.

When Danielle is planning an evening on the town with her friends, she said, “I like to draw inspiration for my personal style from different decades. I tend to look to classic elegance when going out for the night. I love to wear color, especially jewel tones such as emerald green, yellow, and royal blue that accentuate my bright green eyes and red hair. I always accessorize with a little gold.”

However, she said, “When I’m just ‘kicking it’ and being casual I look to the street style of the 80’s and 90’s. I love sweaters more than anything else, but you can also find me in fashionable t-shirts. I can usually be found in leggings or jeans. I keep some elements of classic elegance, but with my own relaxed spin. I like to think that my style is a beautiful marriage of old and new.”
