When you see them compete for a crown, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, business attire, athleisure wear, and swimsuits are the uniforms of necessity. But what do titleholders wear when the sash and crown are stashed away.

Meet Miss Southbury Micayla Barrows of the Miss America Organization.

“When I go out for an evening, whether it be to a show or to dinner,” said Barrows, “my style usually consists of lace, an elegant dress, or any other chic/sophisticated fashion style. I absolutely love heels so those are always a necessity– as well as some sparkly earrings and necklace.”

“When I go to school I still love dressing chic,,” said Barrows, “but I add a little casual sense such as jeans or a looser top. In the winter time, I love sweaters, especially turtle necks, and I also love to match them with a pair of boots. In the summer time, you may see me wearing a pair of loose polyester shorts with a chic top, or a simple yet cute summer dress. On the other hand, I love wearing jogger sweatpants with a baggy shirt or sports shorts with a T-shirt during my free time.”
