Labor Day is often considered the end of summer.

Mother Nature often has other plans—with sunny skies and warm temperatures permeating even the northeast. But in terms of beach road trips and playing hooky from work for a dip into the water, Labor Day means the end of fun for a year.

But, because it’s the end of summer, many retailers and on-line sites start clearing out their inventory of swimsuits. So, it’s the perfect time to start planning for next year’s beach jaunts and cruise journeys.

Here are some of the sales that have started popping up now that the grills are heading for the garage and many of us have resigned ourselves to hoodies and slacks.

Yandy (www.yandy.com) is now offering many swimsuits from 20 percent to 40 percent off.

Macy’s (www.macys.com) also has some steep discounts on many of its suits- two-piece and one-piece.

Nordstrom (www.nordstrom.com) has suits with from 40 to 50 percent off.

Kohl’s (www.kohls.com) has a selection of swimsuits at a 50 percent discount.

For a sporty look, Just Bones Boardwear (www.justbonesboardwear.com) has discounted many swimsuits.

If you’re willing to check out department stores beyond New England, Belk (www.Belk.com) has swimsuits for more than 50 percent off.

You can have a little bit of Project Runway as well. Designer Candice Cuocco (www.candicecuoco.com)  who has competed on “Project Runway” and “Project Runway All-Stars,” is offering steep discounts, such as one-piece suit that originally sold for $85 and has been discounted to $20.

Tammy Rivera from “Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta” has a 40 percent discount on swimsuits from her line T Rivera (www.t-rivera.com)

So if you want to be thrifty and ready for next year’s beach season, now’s the time to hit the web and give your credit card one last workout before you give it a break till it’s time for your holiday shopping.
