Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen Morgan Mancini put her organizational skills where her heart is on Sept. 29.

Morgan, whose issue of concern is “‘Completing the Puzzle: Autism Awareness and Acceptance,” organized her 2nd Annual Gillian’s Autism Walk in Wolcott, Conn. The cause is near to Morgan’s heart because her sister, Gillian, is on the autism spectrum.

On a Facebook post after the event, Morgan posted that the walk raised over $12,000 for Autism Services and Resources Connecticut.

In a Facebook message, Morgan’s mother, Cindy Mancini said 200 people participated including Wolcott’s state representative Rob Sampson and Wolcott’s Mayor Thomas Dunn.

“It was awesome,” said Cindy Mancini.
