Swimsuit trade shows, at least live, were put on hold this July in Miami due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, last year, swimsuit designers and brands were placing their bets on what women would want to wear in the summer of 2020.

Among the trends for summer 2020 presented to retailers at Cabana and Capsule and the SwimShow trade shows at the Miami Convention Center were plenty of solid colors for swimwear, whether they were one piece or two-piece.

Another trend was the cover-up that was more than just a sheer robe (although there were plenty of those presented in Miami). Several designers and brands presented to retailers coverups that were suitable as outfits all on their own. So, whether you went before or after a day at the beach, you could step into one over your swimsuit and look put together for an evening out at a sit-down restaurant with a dress code.

The pandemic may have scuttled elaborate vacations, but as states loosen stay at home orders, the local beaches are still calling many Americans.
