Lindiana Frangu of Woodbury is one of the many models selected in a virtual casting for the annual event.

The three nights of fashion runways will be held at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J. from Feb. 18-20. This will be the event’s 18th season.

Although the show may have drawn designers from beyond the New Jersey area in the past, due to COVID-19, the organizers are taking a more regional approach to who is showing over the weekend.

Frangu, who is a student at Nonnewaug High School, said she applied to the casting call because “the opportunity was introduced to me so I just said ‘why not? and did it.”

“I was so excited to be chosen and get this amazing experience,” said Frangu.

“I’ve always dreamt of modeling and I love fashion and runway shows,” said Frangu, who has walked in two fashion shows and modeled for numerous fashion photograph shoots.

Frangu will be walking for two designers and already has begun to prepare for the event.

“I’ve not only physically but mentally preparing myself for the event, a healthy mind leads to a healthy body,” said Frangu. “The gym, healthy foods and maintaining a skincare routine but also meditation, good sleep and organization (have been part of her preparations).”

Frangu said she’s excited about the “opportunity to be in such an amazing show working with (the organizers of Atlantic City Fashion Week), the designers, the makeup and hair artists.”

“It’s all an amazing experience that I can’t wait to partake in,” said Frangu.

Frangu does have some concerns when the show does begin. “My biggest worry is falling, of course, but we are practicing on the runway multiple times before the show– so fingers crossed.”

As for her own personal style, Frangu said, “I would say it’s classy and glam. But, depending on the event or mood, I like to switch it up.”

“I look up to Princess Diana and brands like Dior, Chanel and Balmain,” said Frangu.
