Happily ever after

There was a fairy tale going on at the Peach and Penny fashion show at Runway 7 during New York Fashion Week in February.

Cinderella and the other princesses (and a touch of “Wicked”) were evoked on the catwalk as the brand unveiled a formal collection for tweens and teens that literally, at times, danced across the room at Sony Hall near Times Square.

Although fairy tales were referenced in silhouettes and pastel fabrics, Peach and Penny managed to avoid the trap of creating “costumes” for a comic book convention. The gowns and cocktail dresses were feminine and lively, perfect for a communion or bat mitzvah… or even a red carpet moment.
