The Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization announced the Miss Connecticut and Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen Competition will be held April 9 at the Cabaret Theater of the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville.
A new Miss Connecticut and Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen will be named as Sapna Raghavan and Aicha Diallo crown their successors respectively.

“We are preparing a fantastic show for people to enjoy and cheer on their favorite candidate as they compete for the state title,” said Ashley Dalton, executive director and treasurer of Miss Connecticut in a press release. “The Miss Connecticut competition continues to serve as an opportunity for young women across the state to earn thousands of dollars in scholarships, grow their professional interview skills and perform a talent on stage in front of hundreds of people.”
The press release said 11 candidates will compete for the Miss Connecticut title, and six for the title of Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen in different phases of competition. The winners will go on to Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen to compete.
Miss candidates will compete in private interview, onstage interview/social impact, talent and red carpet. Teen candidates will compete in private interview, talent, evening wear/on-stage question and lifestyle and fitness.
Both winners will receive scholarship money.
Raghavan has won $12,000 in scholarships. Diallo has been awarded $2,800.
Additional funds can be won at the national level for the Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competitions.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank and congratulate Sapna and Aicha on an incredible year of service,” continued Dalton. “While they have both accomplished so much so early in their lives, I am confident there is even more greatness ahead for these two impressive young women.”
