Rosa Maria Hechavarria has quite the tale to tell.

The Cuban/Italian 40-year-old model introduces herself by telling us, “I could write a book about my life.”

And how would the tale unravel for her dear readers?

“To make it short,,” said the mother of three, “I was a professional volleyball player — I’m actually 6’1 without heels. My passion has always been modeling — and now I’m here, working hard to make my dreams come true and do everything what I like, which I haven’t been able to do for many years for various reasons.”

Rosa recently moved to the United States. (Her children are waiting in Italy to make the move next.)

“I consider myself strong, determined, currently independent and very proud of myself,” said Rosa, who was a recent winner at Victoria Henley’s Magnifique Showcase. “I can’t stand regrets and that’s why I do what I feel like doing and I would like to encourage all women that we are all strong and we can do whatever we want, without listening to other people’s voices. We just need to act and follow our dreams.”
