Connecticut’s Oasis brings sustainable living into the home

Connecticut’s cinder + salt (www.cinderandsalt.com) has been exploring an eco-conscious approach to fashion for years. Now its founder, Rachel DeCavage, has brought eco-conscious living into the home with a new brand, Oasis Home and Supply.

The new brand offers items that bring sustainable living into the kitchen, living room and beyond.

Press materials explain that Oasis “that provides a range of products designed to elevate everyday living with an emphasis on ethical craftsmanship. Focused on delivering stylish, sustainable home goods, Oasis Home & Supply expands on more than a decade of cinder + salt’s commitment to environmental responsibility.”

In the press release, DeCavage said, “We aim to be a resource for sustainable living, featuring only products that do right by the planet and are made to last. Our focus is on sustainably sourced, curated lifestyle products alongside the useful provisions for everyday living.”

DeCavage added in the release, “Many sustainable living stores are doing an excellent job in replacing toxic chemicals in cleaning supplies and personal care, but I’m worried about everything else too. Most everyday products we use are loaded with chemicals, including furniture, cookware and soft goods. I made it my mission to scout out products that we could feel good about having in contact with our food, our skin and our lives, in all the ways. Whether you’re growing a garden, hosting dinner parties, decorating or simply reducing waste, Oasis Home and Supply is here to help.”

The initial line for Oasis features soft goods, cooking and serving utensils, food storage, reusable produce bags and gardening products.

Oasis Home & Supply goods are available online and during select retail location pop-up shops, including one planned at cinder + salt, 195 Main St., Middletown on Nov. 30 for Small Business Saturday.
