One of the most wildly unique, immersive, creative, and innovative productions the diverse city of Las Vegas has to offer, The Haunted Brunch, is a spine-tingling experience featuring a vast assortment of dancers, acrobats, and specialty acts as well as assortments of brunch foods that are equally scrumptious and spooktacular!
Nestled in the heart of Las Vegas at the iconic Composer’s Room, this dynamic, nearly two-hour show kicks off with an indulgent All-You-Can-Eat Buffet, featuring all of your favorite brunch classics that have been creatively renamed to fit the show’s macabre aesthetic, including Crypt Naan, Frittatas of Fear, Fright Bites, Witches Grease (Butter), Fresh Eyeballs (candy coated toppings for pancakes etc.), Bat Droppings (a.k.a: chocolate chips), Stack of Shadows (Pancakes), Monster Crisco (Monte Crisco), and Grave Yard Gummy Worms, just to name a few. Featuring varieties of beverages including a nutritious and refreshing matcha juice, the Haunted Brunch offers an array of packages to suit everyone in your group, including the option to add bottomless mimosas for a nominal additional charge.
The Backstage Pass Team and I were elated for the opportunity to attend media day for this acclaimed brunch performance event that featured an assortment of additional food and entertainment critics, influencers, bloggers , and media outlets from Las Vegas and beyond.
Once we settled in with our food and beverages, the frightful festivities officially began as “Elvirus” (portrayed with whip-smart humor and off-color deadpan punch lines by Las Vegas Comedienne Hailey Brooke; Instagram: @haileybrookishere ) stormed the stage in her signature plunging skin-tight black dress and beehive hairstyle as the emcee for the occasion.
Action-packed from start to finish, the Haunted Brunch serves up jump-scares aplenty from all of your favorite horror characters and more including a series of haunted clowns dancing in tandem (led by none other than Art the Clown from the “Terrifier” film franchise), the eerie twins from the horror classic, “The Shining,” and a segment honoring The Addams Family.
Plenty of opportunities for the audience to star in the show are presented during interactive portions where volunteers are called up on the stage, including an influencer/spectator named Ricky who was summoned by the resident spirit guide/fortune teller Danni Moone, who made some truly striking and uncanny predictions.
Elvirus, always quick with a pun or a joke, made her way through the crowd following an appearance by the signature “Ghostface” villain of the “Scream” movie franchise asking select audience members the fateful question “What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie?” Clips of iconic films ranging from the inescapably popular Twilight franchise, The Little Vampire, Blade, and more were presented in a “horror movie recap” portion of the show.
Fans of the horror movie genre are presented the opportunity to put their knowledge to the test in “The Price is Fright” spooky movie trivia, hosted by a couple of blood-thirsty cheerleaders inspired by the 2009 campy classic, “Jennifer’s Body.”
Decorated dancer/performance artist, and aerialist Jake Johnson displays dazzling dexterity and agility during numerous acrobatic portions of the show and even douses several unsuspecting attendees with Mimosas during an uproariously fun “Ghostbusters”- inspired segment. A synchronized dance inspired by the legendary “Beetlejuice” “Banana Boat (Day-O)” by Harry Belafonte features nearly the entire cast and had the packed audience dancing in their seats.
Upon the closing of this frightfully fun and rowdy romp of a show, the friendly and personable cast takes time to pose for endless photo ops, creating memories sure to last long after your Las Vegas vacation’s end.
Special thanks to the talented @jc_johnson3 and the entirety of the Haunted Brunch Team for having us on board to spotlight this frightfully fun show and brunch on Media Day!
