A new Miss Connecticut and new Miss Connecticut’s Teen were crowned Saturday, June 28 at the Ridgefield Playhouse, Ridgefield.
Cayla Kumar of Hamden was tapped as the new Miss Connecticut. She succeeds Monica Fenwick.
Haylee Brooke Patton of Bristol was selected as the new Miss Connecticut’s Teen. She succeeds her cousin Camryn Patton, also of Bristol.
The top five for the Miss category was Kumar, first runner-up Alexandria Maisto, second runner-up Alexandria Palmer, third runner-up Brooke Cyr and fourth runner-up Michaela Childs.
First runner-up for the Teen category was Aurelia Laitmon.
Both Kumar and Patton will be heading to the nationals in Orlando, which begin Sept. 2. Teen finals will be held Sept. 6. Miss Finals will be held Sept. 7.
Delegates in Miss and Teen competed in health and fitness, talent, on-stage interview and evening gown. The contestants also had a private interview with judges on Friday, June 27.
