Backstage Pass: Having a hoot on the Red Neck Comedy Tour bus

by VICTORIA ELIZABETH

Featuring a two hour ride in the infamous, camouflaged, instantly recognizable signature Red Neck Comedy Tour bus, this rowdy, irreverent, and undeniably fun comedy and tour experience, has been voted by a myriad of top travel platforms, and patron reviews alike as the number one way to explore the most iconic areas of the Great Smoky Mountains.

The Backstage Pass Team and I were afforded the opportunity to spotlight a variety of Redneck Comedy Bus tours in the locations of Nashville, Branson, and the standard Pigeon Forge Tour (which winds into the rolling mountains of Gatlinburg up to some tremendous overlooks and even a moonshine distillery).

We were warmly greeted by our onboard comic, Skeeter, while lovable curmudgeon Tim (who previously served as the comedian during our summer tour) was stationed as our bus driver. Skeeter (who can be seen showcasing his comedic prowess at some of the top entertainment venues and outlets throughout the Smokies) keeps the mood light and the jokes upbeat as the Redneck Comedy Bus rolls down the road, past an assortment of bustling Pigeon Forge’s  most iconic destinations, ultimately making a stop at the beautiful Patriot’s Park.

The aforementioned park was adorned with stunning light displays, many paying homage to the United States military and our troops who have served.

The bus visited the world-famous Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery (one of the top distilleries not only in the United States, but in the entire world that distributes to top outlets, features  renowned music groups on its adjacent deck, and serves  thousands upon thousands of customers annually via live daily tastings), where each customer (of legal drinking age) was presented a voucher to be redeemed for a completely free moonshine tasting as well as a discount code for any purchase made at Ole Smoky.

Non-drinkers and those wishing to not imbibe were  afforded the opportunity to roam the vast expanses of The Island,a grand scale theme park complete with one of the largest Ferris Wheels on the East Coast, and a free water show at the centrally located human made “lake”), while the rest of us meandered into the warm and inviting Ole Smoky for our complimentary moonshine tasting.

I was astounded to learn that the tasting came with a staggering 13 samples, each hand crafted at the state-of-the art fully functioning Ole Smoky Distillery. Just a few of the many award-winning moonshines (and whiskeys) guests are afforded the chance to experience:

Popular & Fruity Flavors:

  • Apple Pie: A warm, spiced classic.
  • Blackberry: Sweet with a tart berry finish.
  • Peach: Sweet and fruity.
  • Watermelon: A refreshing summer flavor.
  • Pineapple.
  • Cherries.

Creamy & Dessert Flavors:

  • Banana Pudding: Nostalgic and smooth.
  • White Chocolate Strawberry Cream: Rich and dessert-like.
  • Butter Pecan: A nutty, sweet treat.
  • Shine Nog: A holiday-themed creamy option.

Unique & Savory Flavors:

  • Mountain Java: Coffee-infused.
  • Hunch Punch: A tropical fruit blend.
  • Blue Flame: Their high-proof, unflavored moonshine.
  • White Lightnin’: Classic, clear moonshine.
  • Pickle: A surprisingly popular savory taste.
  • Sour Pepper: A spicy kick.

Once the tasting had concluded, we boarded the bus for more comedic quips and hilarious hijinks by Skeeter, as the bus headed back towards the destination at which we originally boarded: Cooters Place (based off the quirky character from the beloved 1970’s television series “The Dukes of Hazzard.”)

Be sure to follow The Redneck Comedy Bus by name on all major social media platforms for inside scoop, exclusive content, and how to book your very own tour in one of the company’s many incredible destination locations.

Special thanks to the amazing Dave and the entire Redneck Comedy Bus Tour Team for facilitating our visit for this spotlight feature!
