The Backstage Pass team recently visited “Illusionation: The Magic of Jason Hudy,” starring internationally acclaimed magician and illusionist, Jason Hudy, which has returned for the 2026 season to the illustrious Mountain of Entertainment Theater.
Hudy, who has performed for top corporate clients and at some of the most prestigious venues in the industry, all over the world, dazzles audiences weekly with Illusionation.
Featuring acts that have garnered wide praise from critics and fans alike, the 2026 season also features a plethora of brand new acts which will inevitably leave even the most cynical skeptic completely mind blown.
Co-stars are the remarkably talented Ellie in the classic role of magician’s assistant and Seymon Grusdev as the hilarious comic relief.
Just a few of the many stand out moments of the show include “Hudy and the Goldfish” where the magician eats a snack of Goldfish crackers and miraculously pulls them (completely in full form) from his mouth attached to a fishing line, a beautifully performed bit featuring traditional Chinese rings, and an up-close and personal card trick that proves Hudy’s exceptional abilities on an up close and personal scale.
The show features a strong emphasis upon audience interaction including a a laugh out loud funny and amazing segment with “Pierre,” a yellow ballon animal dog, a larger than life magic wand, and a “magical coloring book” that delighted the wide eyed and incredulous children in the audience.
Ellie shines in a variety of acts including Illuminating Illusions (featuring a beautiful glow in the dark segment of twirling batons set to a pulse pounding track of chart topping hits as well as well as a jaw dropping rendition of PT Selbit’s iconic “sawing a woman in half” trick. Grusdev brings non-stop laughs during an uproariously funny act where he positions his entire body inside a giant bouncing ball and joins a “trick of the month” club, with hilariously disastrous results.
“Illusionation” is an action packed, nonstop, edge of your seat magic spectacular sure to be a highlight of your Smoky Mountain Vacation!
