Backstage Pass: Victoria Elizabeth experiences some Wild Magic

By VICTORIA ELIZABETH

The foremost magic and illusion extravaganza in the Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada area, Wild Magic (featuring award-winning, acclaimed illusionist Greg Frewin ) has been lauded by critics as one of the best magic productions in the nation.

Featuring a complete buffet, this dinner magic show features chef inspired cuisine that you’ll be hard pressed to find at any other standard dinner show experience.

The nearly two-hour, action-packed show kicks off to a rousing start with an uproariously funny segment starring “Chuck the Duck,” and a mystifying, reality-defying segment during which the leading magician seemingly materializes on a motorcycle before the audience’s very eyes. The show also features lead assistant Alexandra, who is a wildly skilled magician who has been featured on “Britain’s Got Talent,” “X-Factor,” “America’s Got Talent,” and “Penn and Teller’s Fool Us.” This one of a kind production also features the magical mastery of  dancer and magician’s assistant Erica, who wows the crowd with her laser sharp choreography and graceful dance prowess.

Featuring a delightful blend of classic sleight of hand and grand scale magic, a few of the myriad stand out segments in Wild Magic include the headlining magician magically transforming $100 into a measly one dollar bill before the audience’s very eyes.

Audience participation is actively encouraged and incorporated throughout the duration of this award-winning show, including bits where audience members draw cards from decks after which mind bending feats of mind-reading and mentalism ensue, and a segment featuring a wide eyed incredulous child volunteer with a magic coloring book. This book features black and white pages that into a rainbow of colors in real time. (The book is available for purchase after the show.)

Frewin, an avid animal lover, features many of his own furry friends including several precious well-trained canines, and, of course, the aforementioned Chuck the Duck).

A wildly unconventional take on the classic “egg in a bag” trick is performed by our titular star, after which Alexandra, Canada’s very own Lady of Magic keeps the audience spellbound by escaping a straitjacket, manipulating Chinese rings in ways you’ve never seen before.

The entirety of the cast, all extremely warm, personable and friendly, make themselves available on the step and repeat area post- show for up close and personal meet and greets and photo ops.

Sure to excite and delight audience members of all ages and walks of life, be sure to see for yourself why so many people from around the world count Wild Magic as a highlight of their Niagara Falls vacation experience!
