Candyce Scott, the fashion designer behind Gorgy by Candy and an alderman for the City of New Britain, celebrated Black History Month in style at the New Britain Public Library on Feb. 28.
The alderman did what she does best, staged a fashion show to celebrate the accomplishments of Black Americans. In addition to using fashion models from Connecticut, Scott utilized member of the community to showcase her own clothes as well as guest designers.
In addition to the fashion, there were prayers, guest speakers, karaoke and the runway models offered up quotes from Black leaders.
