By JEREMIAH ROBINSON
My skating journey started in 2022, when I started working at Skate Reflections in Kissimmee, Fla. over the weekends.
The more I went skating on my off days the more I fell in love with it. I ended up going any chance I could get.
I fell into jam/dance skating more and more. I met more skaters in the area. I ended up practicing almost every day out the week. Some days I’d even ask the owner to stay late just to have an extra hour.
After a couple of annual events and a lot of hours practicing at the rink, I ended up being a favored skater for WOW-rolling, a Florida skate company.
For a year, I worked alongside WOW-rolling to create some of the best moments in my skating career, including performing at the Orange County Convention Center and snagging a commercial for the energy drink company called ZOA.
At the peak of my career performing around the state, I injured my wrist and ankle in a car crash. That changed my path of skating for a long time.
I took almost a year off. I was hesitant to perform again.
After a long recovery and some light skating, I found a home and sponsor in Fusion Skate Group and UNIQ skates.
Once I got back on my feet in 2024, I had my first chance to perform after the injury at the DR. Philips Performing Arts Center. I was saluted with a standing ovation.
It brought my love for skating back stronger than ever.
From there forward, I have done a handful of events and geared myself to be a competitive skater soon.
Through it all, I’m grateful and eager to show out for everyone who’s supported me along the way.
