Fashion designer Peter Fu evoked the past and fantasy in the collection presented at Maison at Yale’s annual runway show on April 13.
Prior to his models taking to the catwalk, Fu said he took inspiration for his looks from military and court costumes used in “pre-modern states” in Rome, China, Japan and Greece. He said his approach to style was similar in the way J.R.R. Tolkien (“Lord of the Rings”) or George R.R. Martin (“Game of Thrones”) imagined the costumes of their characters in their fantasy works.
