Hartford Fashion Week: Style event returns for 2026

by MIKE CHAIKEN

Hartford Fashion Week is back June 7-13 after having its inaugural season in 2025.

Leading the organization is fashion designer Bertha Angelo, the brains behind La’Moo.

“Bringing back Hartford Fashion Week last year was a dry run and the results were amazing,” said Angelo, reflecting on the 2025 event. “Community support was unwavering.”

Angelo continued, “The feedback we got was all positive. The community was very happy we brought it back and we were very happy to be able to provide the experience.”

For the 2026 season, Angelo said, “We are try to give the best experience that we possibly can in the hopes of satisfying our supporters.”

For the new season for HFW, Angelo said, “I have pulled out some of Connecticut’s best and upcoming designers and give them the opportunity to show their work.”

Additionally, Angelo said, “I will be pulling some of my work out of my archives as well.”

Asked if the designers were given any brief on how they should approach their new collections for Hartford Fashion Week, Angelo said, “Our direction is basically letting the designers be free to express themselves and show everyone what they have to offer.”

Asked why the Nutmeg State needs an event like hers, Angelo said, “We need Hartford Fashion Week for the simple fact that designers, makeup artists, hair stylists and creatives need the platform to showcase their talent. This is why my team and I are working extremely hard to put together the week the best way we know how.”

What’s new this year for the relaunched HFW?

“As we rebuild Hartford Fashion Week,” said Angelo, “we are trying all different angles this year. We have a show catered to models age 50 and up. This show is more on the fun side giving something a little different and fun. We will be going live on Monday to talk about creating a collection for those who want to start and don’t where to begin. We are also going live to show you some styling tips. There is one secret location show — the mystery of where the show will be held is exciting. The rest of the week is filled with some of Connecticut, Springfield, and New York designers showcasing some of their best work in different locations around Hartford.”
