One of the longest running and most legendary shows in the city of Branson, Branson’s Famous Baldknobbers has been serving up a delightfully distinctive brand of zany comedy, outrageously high-octane instrumentals, and a superbly blended variety of the top country, rock, pop, and gospel hits spanning the decades.
Since the show’s official inception in 1959, the iconic Mabe family has been thrilling legions of guests from around the world with world class entertainment, performed by a wildly talented cast, brandishing the world famous “Baldknobber” name to pay homage to the band of vigilantes in their lineage, who exacted justice in the Ozarks from 1885 to 1889.
Starring the inimitably talented power couple, Brandon and Megan Mabe, Branson’s Famous Baldknobbers also features a grand-scale award-winning band, featured vocalists Ashley Dawn and Shane, world-renowned gospel vocalist Dan Keeton and state-of-the-art lighting and surround sound technology, operated regularly by the immensely talented Jordan Gabriel, who can be seen starring as “The Flying J” in the Doug Gabriel Morning Show.
Jerl Adams serves as the comic relief for the show in character as “Hargus Marcel,” a hilariously clueless character who constantly “interrupts” the planned show format as he attempts to steal the spotlight by singing a ballad or distracting the audience with his various hi-jinks, all while Brandon Mabe plays a pitch-perfect straight man to Marcel’s antics.
Country classics from household name superstars such as Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Hank Williams and George Strait are performed with great aplomb during this two-hour variety show extravaganza, as well as a plethora of unexpected artist and genre covers, including a poignant rendition of “Never Enough” from “The Greatest Showman” by Megan Mabe.
Beautifully filmed and professionally edited packages are presented throughout the duration of the show to afford audiences the exclusive opportunity to get to know the talented cast that brings this delightful, award-winning show to life night after night.
