RIDE SHARE SCARE BY THE ORIGINAL MURDER MYSTERY DINNER THEATRE

Locally-owned and operated, and performed in a wildly original and unconventional manner you won’t soon forget, The Original Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre is performed on the upper level of the House of Blues Myrtle Beach and offers guests a chilling, thrilling experience they truly will not find elsewhere.

Once we arrived to the eerily chic upper deck of the House of Blues, we were escorted by the hostess, Tamra, who showed us to our table, presenting a clue packet we were to utilize later in the evening to determine “Who Dunnit”, “How Dunnit”, and “Why Dunnit”.

Once seated, we were given a quick briefing regarding how our two-hour experience would unfold, beginning with the cryptic advice to “Trust No One” as the perpetrators indubitably would be sitting amongst us. I noticed a visibly nervous woman sitting beside me and wondered if she may very well be a suspect. I made eye contact with the gentleman sitting across from me and wondered what he might be planning and scheming.

The palpable energy and electric sense of suspicion are a few of the many elements which make Original Murder Mystery Shows so wonderfully well, original, is the fact that the performers are amongst you through the duration of the show, adding a keen element of danger and realism. The delicious dinner consists of a fresh garden salad with sweet and savory dressing, tender grilled chicken breast with a side of veggies, a soft dinner roll with butter, finished with a decadent cheesecake. Sweet and unsweet tea are included in the multi course meal which accompanies your murder mystery experience, and a full bar is located onsite, complete with a vast assortment of cocktails, wines, beers, and other libations for purchase.

Jack Rose, a fast talking, overly confident realtor, dramatically falls dead after taking a sip of his cocktail, an apparent poisoning. Justin Credible (get it?), the detective, bursts on to the scene to gather information from witnesses (aka: the audience, who is given opportunity to gather details from a posted reference board), as the complex story continues to unfold.

Suddenly, the detective confronts the woman sitting next to me, who reluctantly identifies herself as Anita Mann (get it?) with numerous questions regarding who invited her to the evening’s party, whether she was acquainted with the now deceased Rose, and many more carefully calculated inquiries.

Mann, visibly nervous from the interrogation complains that her cocktail also tastes abnormal and begins to feel dizzy, staggering and swerving about the room. The server, Bill E. Canoe, a handsome young man with a frantic disposition repeatedly drops dishes and cutlery throughout the duration of his serving duties, giving nervous side eyes to the host, Tamra, and acerbically dodging questions from the intrepid detective.

A trip to the women’s restroom goes horrifically wrong, chaos and carnage ensue, and bodies continue to drop as suspicion and tensions rise in the quest for justice and the truth. Serving up endless dark humor, tongue-in-cheek double entendres, remarkably talented actors, and a surprise twist at the end you’ll truly have to see in order to believe, “Ride Share Scare” is a thrilling, chilling good time that will remain with you long after your Myrtle Beach vacation.

Be sure to put your detective caps on for the night and work extra hard to put together the carefully curated clues (located on cheat sheets, the program, a special online social media clue packet, and more) to win some exciting prizes you won’t find anywhere else.

Special thanks to Eric with The House of Blues and the entire Original Murder Mystery Crew for having us back!
