Nestled in the heart of the majestic Great Smoky Mountains, Blue Mountain Mist, a bed and breakfast, provides a secluded and peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the Pigeon Forge Parkway of Tennessee.

Featuring 5 star, chef prepared cuisine and luxurious-yet cozy- lodging quarters, this acclaimed bed and breakfast has been ranked as a top lodging destination on a myriad of major travel review websites, including TripAdvisor and Hotels.com.

Located in the rolling foothills of the serene Appalachian Mountains, Blue Mountain Mist features 12 guest rooms in the main house, five cottages within walking distance, and a full-service spa that is available (by appointment only) to overnight guests as well as the general public.

A popular destination for weddings and special events among tourists and locals alike, this one-of-a-kind bed and breakfast offers spacious quarters, breathtaking views, and ample amenities sure to create incomparable memories that will remain long after your vacation has ended.

I was given the opportunity to experience the magic of Blue Mountain Mist by Kolette Ball , who has facilitated the majority of our spotlight visits to one of Pigeon Forge’s top variety shows , Array.

The family of Kolette’s husband, Jason Ball, opened Blue Mountain Mist decades ago. The bed and breakfast has remained under the expert care and leadership of the family ever since.

Upon arrival at Blue Mountain Mist, we were greeted by the personable and amiable front desk attendant Allison, who provided us with a grand tour of the expansive main house, which includes a gift shop, several posh and comfortable “living room” style relaxation areas, and a sprawling wrap-around porch, perfect for enjoying sublime sunsets and striking mountain vistas.

We then made our way into the dining room, where we were greeted with a scrumptious multi course dinner prepared by the seasoned and highly talented resident chef, Eric. It was courteously served by Abraham. Our dinner experience, which was made by advance reservation, included three entrees (one per member of our party)– tender chicken accompanied by savory roasted potatoes and vegetable medley, succulent salmon with hearty mashed sweet potatoes and winter roasted vegetables, as well as spinach and cheese stuffed chicken served with tremendously flavorful sautéed mushrooms.

Each dinner was preceded by a crisp garden salad served up with an assortment of dressings as well as mouth-watering freshly baked cheddar biscuits. A wide variety of teas, sodas and lemonade options are available to enjoy with your meal. Each dinner is finished with award-winning dessert options, including refreshing “Sunshine Cake” (a delightful orange lemon cake indulgence), satisfying blueberry cobbler and delectable strawberry butter cake with ice cream.

Following our incredible dinner experience, it was time to turn into our respective rooms.

I was assigned the Sugarlands room, a personal staff favorite, complete with a state of the art jacuzzi hot tub (perfect for rejuvenating after a long day of exploring the Smokies), a remote-controlled fireplace, a cozy canopy style bed, and spacious bathroom.

Each day, guests are afforded the opportunity to sign in for an included chef-prepared breakfast, during which we savored leisurely morning meals consisting of fresh fruit cups, crispy fried chicken and waffles, scrambled eggs, cooked apples, grits and gravy, pork and Turkey sausage (upon request), sweet and satisfying “double-decker” French toast (dressed with real whipped cream and fresh strawberries) , and crispy smoked bacon, complete with assortments of juices and coffee.

Rachel Mobley, our server, provided outstanding service, further enhancing our already greatly enjoyable dining experience.

A sweets bar called “Temptation Station” is available all night starting around 6 p.m. for guests who may wish to indulge their late night sweet tooth, and an enticing lineup of homemade cakes, cobblers, pies and freshly baked cookies are available to satisfy even your most elusive cravings. Varieties of soft drinks, and a full coffee and tea bar are available around the clock for guests’ convenience as well as packets of popcorn, perfect for a late night movie (where patrons can select from hundreds of multi-genre DVD options in the television and recreational area downstairs, complete with a high speed computer, a massive flatscreen television, and a cheerful sun porch, perfect for enjoying your favorite book or a quiet, restful moment.

Curl up in the front porch hammock and feel the warm mountain breeze on your face, or enjoy a slow, easy afternoon in one of the many rocking chairs on the large porch area while you play with one of the many adorable resident cats.

Roam the exquisitely manicured grounds and pose for envy-inducing photo ops amidst the million dollar scenic views surrounding this majestic inn.

The opportunities to savor an unforgettable vacation without even leaving the property are endless at the Blue Mountain Mist.

The staff embodies their mission statement of treating each and every guest like a member of their own family.

Perfect for large celebrations, romantic getaways, or an unforgettable Smoky Mountain vacation with your family, look no further than the Blue Mountain Mist if you you’re looking for a grand escape from the stressors of daily life.
