After a year of presenting virtual shows during the pandemic, Paraiso Miami Beach announced it is returning with in-person runway shows, events, and brand activations featuring more than 30 swimwear and resort wear brands, throughout four days of programming, July 8 through 11, 2021.
The official industry platform of swim week in Miami, Paraiso Miami Beach will hold Resort 2022 runway shows and events at its tent at Collins Park in Miami Beach and The Ritz-Carlton South Beach, with satellite events throughout Miami Beach, including Plymouth Miami Beach, MILA, Joia Beach Club, and Mondrian South Beach.
“Since its inception, the focus of PARAISO Miami Beach has been the growth of the swimwear, beachwear, and resort wear industry. Bringing the in-person platform back to life is critical to rebuilding the fashion economy after the pandemic,” said Natalija Dedic Stojanovic, co-founder of PARAISO Miami Beach.
This season, Paraiso Miami Beach welcomes fashion brands including Jonathan Simkhai, CARAVANA, Nia Lynn Collection byNicole Williams English, Bfyne, Leimakani, Honey Birdette, and PQ Swim, to name a few. An influencer and TV personality Stef Roitman, in collaboration with singer Mery Racauchi will debut its first-ever swim capsule. Glamorous and unapologetically authentic, Honey Birdette will push the boundaries in its runway debut, with statement-making lingerie and swim looks, and a special appearance by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” stars Violet Chachki and Naomi Smalls.
To address the recent shifts in consumer buying behavior, Paraiso Miami Beach will highlight the conversation on the direct-to-consumer model, business strategies, and the importance of building a strong e-commerce platform with a panel talk at MILA with Gorgias, Omnisend, and Okendo.
Returning to Paraiso Miami Beach are swimwear veterans Luli Fama, Palmacea, Maaji, Oh Polly, and Liliana Montoya, who will present their Resort 2022 collections.
Procolombia, the Colombian government agency, and Paraiso Miami Beach will kick off the four days of events, hosting the second annual DESTINATION Colombia runway show at the PARAISO Tent at Collins Park, presenting 10 Colombian swimwear and resort wear brands to watch. Bahama Mama, Naranja Furcado, Mola Mola, Ancora, Smeralda, and others will present their Resort 2022 collections to an industry audience of press and buyers, followed by the trade showroom on Friday, July 9 at The Ritz Carlton South Beach where attendees will be able to connect with designers one-on-one. DESTINATION Colombia, which celebrates fashion and culture, supports the expansion of Colombian brands in the U.S. market.
Miami Beach’s newest hotel, The Celino Hotel, will host an event in collaboration with SELECT Model Management at Meet Dalia. Bridget Halanski, Chief Marketing Officer of SELECT, will kick off PARAISO Miami Beach’s swim week events with their models at the new, retro-style property. Notable guests are slated to include Sofia Resing, Daniela De Jesus, Kourtney Kellar, and Fiona Baron, with a special guest performance by SELECT’s own DJ/singer-songwriter Selena Sofia.
Paraiso runway shows will be all live-streamed thanks to PARAISO’s digital collaborator DISGO, and links added to the program on paraisomiamibeach.com closer to the event time.
This season, PARAISO Miami Beach will support two runway shows benefiting non-profit organizations Models of Color Matter and Lotus House Women’s Shelter. Guests that wish to attend Segunda Mano fashion show will be able to purchase tickets at paraisomiamibeach.com. Proceeds will be donated to Lotus House Women’s Shelter.
