Texas and Illinois reps win night 2 of Miss America prelims

On the second night of preliminary competition at Miss America, the representatives from Texas and Illinois won the preliminary awards.

Mallory Fuller of Texas was the social impact pitch winner in events held at the Mohegan Sun Earth Expo and Convention Center in Uncasville, Conn. She spoke about suicide prevention. She was awarded a $1,000 scholarship courtesy of IT Help

Isabelle Hogan of Illinois was the preliminary competition winner on Monday night. She played the classical violin. She was awarded a $2,500 scholarship courtesy of Kawai Piano.

After the competition, Fuller and Hogan met with members of the press to be interviewed.

The Miss America finals will be streamed on Peacock on Thursday at 8 p.m. from Mohegan Sun Arena.
