If you pull back the curtains of history, you’ll learn that the first wedding veils were intended to disguise the bride-to-be to keep her safe from evil spirits.

These days, however, they offer an added layer of beauty to a bridal ensemble.

Sorry, evil spirits if you’re out there.

During Fashion Closet, a livestreaming event offered by Sound of Fashion Week CT at the historic Hartford Club in Hartford, Conn., Dhibi Couture teamed up with bridal designer By Dani Simone Studio to showcase a variety of elaborate veils in the Georgian Revival structure that lies a stone’s throw from the Old State House in Connecticut’s capital city.
