Guvanch opened Look III: A Fashion Happening on Feb. 9 with an upcycled collection that invoked that rock and roll nexus when the gritty Gotham glam of the New York Dolls morphed into the CBGB’s punk attitude of Blondie and the Ramones. The gender fluid garments constructed for a physically diverse clientele had a gritty feel with a good dose of decadence that invoked a New York City beaten down by economic hardship, long before the metropolis’s current economic renaissance.
The catwalk event was part of Runway7 at Sony Hall during New York Fashion Week.
