Designers turn the unexpected into winning fashions

You’ve lounged in your favorite fashions on your favorite furniture.

But have you considered turning your favorite furniture into fashion?

Atlantic City Fashion Week held a design competition in which fashion design students were asked to create garments out of upholstery fabric from Absecom Mills.

David Aguilar was selected by a panel of judges as the winner of the evnet held at the Showboat Hotel on Sept. 16. The top prize was $1,000 and a new Brother sewing machines.

This is what guests saw at the first night of Atlantic City Fashion Week.
