Nestled high atop the rolling peaks and hills of the breathtaking Great Smoky Mountains, the treasure of the Appalachians, Skyland Ranch is the newest thrilling attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., serving up endless opportunities for fun, relaxation, and adventure. Officially opened to the public in November 2022, Skyland Ranch affords guests the opportunity to experience a vast array of opportunities to make once in a lifetime memories at a beautifully designed attraction, unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere.
I was afforded the opportunity to highlight this brand new Pigeon Forge area attraction for a spotlight for IHeart Radio and CTFashionMag.
THE WILD STALLION MOUNTAIN COASTER
This winding mountain coaster, through which guests can journey up the steep mountain incline and coast down at either warp speed or a leisurely pace (you control the speed with brake lever handles on either side of the cart), on an unforgettable, thrilling action – packed eight-minute ride on a track spanning an unbelievable total of 1.25 miles. Ride during the day and at night, and the birds eye vantage point of the mountain’s natural flora and fauna during the day, as well as the luminous, viscerally stunning lights at night, provide guests a totally different experience during each ride. One of the focal points of Skyland Ranch, the Mountain Coaster is sure to become legendary among the legions of visitors from around the world.
HORIZON SKYRIDE:
The expedition up the towering mountain, which leads to the fun, food, and non-stop opportunities for adventure that awaits at Skyland Ranch begins on the Horizon Skylift. The chairlifts, which are easily accessible and convenient to use for all ages (both babies and my 88-year-old grandmother, “Mimmie,” boarded and rode the lifts with great ease), are comfortable and offer an open air experience and spectacular view of both the city and the vast expanse of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Do not dismay if you have a fear of heights or perhaps just prefer to stay warm during this chilly weather, as a shuttle and open air safari truck option is available for visitors who prefer not to ride the lift.
MINIATURE ANIMALS
Upon reaching the peak of Skyland Ranch, you’ll be met with the glorious site of a plethora of miniature animals, including ponies, donkeys, cows, and sheep, each with their own lovable and completely unique personalities and characteristics. Opportunities for meet and greets with the miniature animal residents of Skyland Ranch are sure to delight everyone in your family , and we were elated to get up close and personal with miniature pony, Beth (who was available for photo ops, while guided by her trusty handler) and thoroughly enjoyed taking social media-worthy photos with a variety of the animals residing in the expansive quarters throughout the duration of our visit.
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
Skyland Ranch offers a vast array of live entertainment, featuring a stellar line up of decorated and wildly talented local performers, bringing to life an array of genres including country, folk, bluegrass, and much more with a distinctive acoustic flair.
Every visit to Skyland Ranch affords guests the opportunity to witness a rotating line up of talented performers, sure to excite and delight the entire family.
