Staying motivated with your significant other


As your relationship with your significant other progresses on through the years, it is possible that you catch your partner drifting off in a direction that was unforeseen. What exactly do I mean by this? As you feel more comfortable with your partner, it is easier for you or your partner to drift apart from your beginning “habits.” This includes sticking to your fitness and nutrition regimen.

Once you have left that stage behind, it is common for people to notice weight gain and fall into routines that are not particularly ones that allow yourself to be your best. As life gets more complicated, it is difficult to keep up with those healthy regimens religiously. Having your partner take on the health and fitness regime with you, will make it all the more easier, and you will become the ultimate “power couple.”

Here are some tips on how to keep your significant other and yourself motivated for a healthy and active life!

First, go to the gym together. Having that extra person by your side to push you to go to the gym, will make all the difference. I know, it is quite easy to collapse back into your older, unhealthy choices, and eating habits, but if you have someone by your side the entire journey, it will make it not seem as difficult. Controlling what you eat is going to take a lot of hard work and determination.

If you have someone by your side the entire time, there are multiple ways that will assist in you staying motivated. To make it more of an enjoyable activity with each other, research delicious recipes that you both believe are tasteful, and do the grocery shopping together as well. Taking a trip to the store together will allow you both to work together in making judgments of what you put in your cart. You two can work together to decide what is the healthiest and best option to purchase. The best part about making your own meals is that you control what goes in it. Not only will you and your significant other be cooking up a delicious, balanced and healthy meal, but cooking always brings out the fun side of eating. You will create memories in the kitchen with your partner that will be unforgettable. The best part of all of this is that you will have someone watching over you, to see the amount of food that you consume. Although something may be healthy, watching your portion size is crucial for keeping you lean and healthy.

The best part of exercise is that what you can do varies. There are endless ideas of enjoyable activities that you can do that keep you active. Depending on the season and where you live, hikes and scenic walks are always an option. A walk or run on the beach, and any water activities such as kayaking, surfing, and swimming are great ways to stay active but also, beat the heat. You can always sign up to run a marathon together, participate in a mud run, try a dance class, rock climbing and take kickboxing or cycle classes together. The possibilities that you and your partner can choose from are endless. Variety in what you do to keep you active is crucial for you to stay motivated in order to be up to par on your daily regimens. The best part of these certain activities is that you create unforgettable memories with your partner.
