A tragic moment in Sydney Houston’s life compelled her to dive head first into the world of modeling.

Sydney said her boyfriend died in 2019.

And Sydney, who lives in Colorado Springs, Colo., said modeling became a way to get past the grief.

When she first started modeling in 2018, Sydney said she was not overly committed. But with the tragic loss, modeling became a coping mechanism to deal with the trauma of the loss of a loved one.

“My focus moved more to modeling than before,” the high school senior explained.

In 2020, Sydney’s focus began to pay off. In those days before the COVID-19 pandemic, Sydney said she was selected to participate in the International Model and Talent Association Convention.

Additionally, Sydney was a winner at the Magnifique Showcase held in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. May 22. Magnifique is organized by former “America’s Next Top Model” contestant Victoria Henley.

“In continuing to model,” said Sydney, “my hope is to have the opportunity to see the world.”
